The Northern Parcel at Cheltenham’s Golden Valley will deliver part of a new neighbourhood that combines high quality homes with generous green infrastructure and strong connections to the surrounding community.

Guided by Local Plan policy and the site SPD, the proposals were developed in close consultation with the Council’s Urban Design team, to ensure both that the masterplan is robost and represents distinctive high quality design; but also that, through the submission of an accompanying Design Code, that the quality of the scheme will not be diminished through the detail design stages.

Landscape and green infrastructure will play a defining role throughout the development, with open spaces woven between homes to ensure every resident is either overlooking or within a short walk of accessible green space. We worked collaboratively with Landscape Architects, incorporating areas for play, recreation and relaxation within a sympathetic landscape strategy that enhances biodiversity while creating attractive spaces for the community to enjoy.

The homes themselves will offer a mix of sizes, types and tenures, designed to support a diverse and balanced community. Architecture will be simple, elegant and reflective of Cheltenham’s character, drawing on materials and detailing found across the wider town to ensure the development feels naturally connected to its setting. The architecture and materiality is reinforced through the detailed Design Code approved. Together, the proposals will create a sustainable and welcoming new neighbourhood that strengthens the edge of Cheltenham while contributing positively to the future vision of Golden Valley.
