PER111_northernview1.jpg

Location: Plymouth

Saltram Meadow is a major mixed-use redevelopment of Plymstock Quarry located on the eastern edge of Plymouth. It includes a new school, shops, employment and up to 1,684 homes; all served by new bus services and improved cycle links.

Urban Design Box have an instruction to provide design services in support of the ongoing development of this large brownfield site including the mixed use residential and commercial proposal that will enclose the Main Square at the heart of Saltram Meadow. The resulting proposal will be for residential, commercial uses and public realm as part of a contemporary setting for the Main Square at the heart of the development.

Working closely with Plymouth City Council, helping to realise the client’s vision for the site has been key given the site’s relationship with existing neighbourhoods and the consequent level of public interest in the development’s successful delivery.
